Safety Requirements

Hello! I'm a beginner jewelry maker currently focused on sterling silver/ copper wire wrapped jewelry. This is mostly just a hobby, but I'd eventually like to make enough pieces to sell in local crafts fairs or potentially online. I'm wondering what kind of safety requirements need to be met to do this? For example, I know there are certain regulations regarding lead content in adult/children's jewelry that need to be met. As a beginning artist, how does one show that I'm using safe materials?…See More

Do you want to help us make our designs in sterling silver?

Hello,We are jewelry designers with the desire to re create our existing designs in sterling silver. We have exclusive copyrights of our designs and we need to commission mold, casting, finishing and also developing the new collections. It does not have to be done all in one place and we are open to work with studios outside of Calgary. Please let me know if we could help each other :DThank you so muchLorenaSee More

Blair:  Great idea!  Let me take your comment to The Board and see how this might be implemented.  Would you be open to volunteering on the development of this? Thanks, Delane

It would be nice to know where everyone is, if they have a storefront or studio or work from home.  Also it would be good to have an opportunities listing, ie: shows, events help wanted.  One thing i appreciate is feedback on the different show and fairs and galleries and the craftperson's experience with a venue.  This helps to make informed choices.
