May enamelling classes with Torched Studio

Learn enamelling from a full time professional enamellist.  I teach both traditional and experimental techniques. In my one day enamelling workshops you will learn as much in 5 hours as many classes teach in a month or more. No experience is necessary to take the beginner class. By the end of class you will be comfortable enamelling on your own.  This is a great option for those living outside the downtown core as there's no commuting back and forth.Enamelling is not limited to jewellery, it can…See More

May Cloisonné Enamel on Art Clay Silver Class at BeadFX

Hello,I will be offering a four-day intensive cloisonné enamelling class at BeadFX in Toronto. Cloisonné is a style of enamelling that uses fine wires to create a design of glass and metal. The wires are used to form partitions – cloisons – that aid in colour shading and help to create the overall design. In this class, students will create original jewellery designs or components using fine silver metal clay, fine silver wire and colourful vitreous glass enamel. Experience working with metal…See More

Tell us about your education.
Designing jewelry is something I find comes naturally to me. Sleek lines, vibrant colors and interesting textures form an endless array of jewelry possibilities. Growing up I never imagined I would be playing with fire and hammers to earn a living... but with lessons from my dad and the support of my family, a loving husband and a sweet new baby girl, I could not be happier.

I would like to have a piece of my work featured in a magazine at some point.

Hi Katie
As you may know we are featuring BC artists on the website this month - please consider uploading some photos we can feature them! We would also appreciate information on your favorite Galleries and suppliers so that we can add them to the resources section.
