Safety Requirements

Hello! I'm a beginner jewelry maker currently focused on sterling silver/ copper wire wrapped jewelry. This is mostly just a hobby, but I'd eventually like to make enough pieces to sell in local crafts fairs or potentially online. I'm wondering what kind of safety requirements need to be met to do this? For example, I know there are certain regulations regarding lead content in adult/children's jewelry that need to be met. Hello Michele,

We are members of the Metal Arts Guild and we offer PMC workshops and classes across Canada. We are running programs with the Ontario Crafts Council and at our studio in Kitchener. We are certified instructors for Precious Metal Clay.

On August 22nd we are going to offer a 'PMC Boot Camp' out of our studio in down town Kitchener. Below is more detailed information.

It's Boot Camp for PMC!! It runs from 10am to 6pm. Saturday August 22, 2009. Status: OPEN
This class is packed with technical and practical information and the projects cover a wide range of techniques that will allow you start working in PMC right away!

Cost: $220 (Plus GST). All tools are provided and all the materials are included. Students will take home their remaining PMC plus a basic tool kit.

Space is limited to 6-8 participants for maximum student/instructor (Two Instructors) interaction.
