Nourished by explorations in glass and macrophotography, I am in constant evolution. My earlier experiments have all left their mark, guiding my current production and my creative process.
Macrophotography inspires me a lot. I like when people come closer to explore the depth of detail in my creations. I am fascinated by the miniature world, a passion that has led me to jewellery. Like photography, this discipline gives me the power to freeze time, to capture precise moments so they can endure forever. Thus the first objective of my creations, to catch the eye.
My inspiration comes from a variety of sources. Art Nouveau inspires me. I have a special affinity for abstraction because that’s how I see the world.
Observing my work, an attentive eye could discover me just as much as the object itself. The latter often reveals certain facets of my personality. For example, the need to protect my privacy while at the same time being an extravert is often expressed as an interplay of contrasts and hidden shapes. I use solids and voids, some parts camouflaged, other parts striking. I use a lot of organic shapes and I like to create zones of shadow amid light. Another indication of this is my desire to associate metal with glass, the transparency of glass against metal’s opacity.
All in all, my future production will have a way of reflecting everything I am, while leaving the way open to the evolution of… Well, we’ll see!
