Connecting Canadian metalsmiths since the tradition began
The Metal Arts Guild of Canada exists to connect blacksmiths, metal sculptors, welding artists, and jewellery metalsmiths working in every corner of the country. We believe that the forge is more than a workspace. It is a gathering point where centuries of tradition meet the creative ambitions of a new generation. Our members range from full-time professional smiths who operate production shops to hobbyists who light their forges on Saturday mornings, and we value every one of them equally. Through artist profiles, exhibition listings, workshop directories, and long-form journal writing, we aim to make the Canadian metal arts community visible, accessible, and impossible to ignore.
We are not a certifying body or a gatekeeping institution. We are a collective voice for makers who shape metal by hand and by hammer, by torch and by press. If you forge, fabricate, weld, solder, raise, or chase metal into something that did not exist before, this guild is for you. Browse our artist directory, sign up for a workshop, read the journal, or simply explore the craft areas that interest you. The anvil is always warm.
